Introduction

We believe that privacy is a universal and fundamental human right. Regardless of your location, the Cozzi Platform ("Cozzi") affords you all of the safeguards and privileges found in more diligent jurisdictions, as permitted by applicable laws. Cozzi was designed from the ground up to protect the privacy of its users. As a result, Cozzi behaves differently than other platforms. For starters, users are generated and identified by a unique asymmetric keypair called Credentials, rather than a traditional username and password. Credentials greatly reduce the required amount of personally-identifiable information ("PII") for Cozzi to operate.

This Privacy Policy covers how The Cozzi Organization LLC ("The Cozzi Org") collects, processes, and utilizes personal data. Cozzi may link to third parties through our services, like apps and websites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to how third parties define and use personal data. Please read third party privacy policies to understand your rights with them. Payment processing is provided by Stripe, Inc. and subject to their terms and privacy policy.

Information We Collect

From the beginning, Cozzi was designed to collect only the personal data required to operate. The amount of personal data we collect depends on your use of Cozzi. When you request data from our servers, purchase virtual currency and Content, share User Generated Content ("UGC"), contact us (including over social media), or otherwise interact with Cozzi or The Cozzi Org, we may collect the following personal information:

Account Information - Public key of your Credentials, cryptographic signature, user-designated username, account status, public bio, profile picture, and profile banner
Device Information - Public IP address
Contact Information - Data such as your name, phone number, physical address, email address, and national ID number. Only required for Creators with tax reporting requirements
Transaction Information - Data such as past purchases of virtual currency and Content purchased with virtual currency
Usage Data - Data you request from Cozzi as part of using the platform
Government ID Information - Certain jurisdictions require us to verify the age and identity of our users. In these jurisdictions, we collect and process Government ID information such as name, age, and address to fulfill these responsibilities.

Our Use of Your Information

The Cozzi Org uses your information to power the services found on the platform and comply with applicable laws. Without this data, our services would not work. Our use falls into the following categories:

Powering The Services - Displaying public personal information to users (like your display name and posts), saving data for users, personalized recommendations, smart-contract execution (using your public address)
Protecting Cozzi Infrastructure - Analyze network packet information, specifically IP address, to prevent abuse
Complying With Laws - Fulfill tax reporting requirements, court orders, scan for pornographic material and unlawful advertising, comply with user ID laws
Complete Transactions - Link purchases of virtual currency with accounts and link purchases of Content with accounts
Communication With Users - Allows The Cozzi Org to email, chat, or send other communication to you. Most communication you can opt-out, except those required for completing our obligations to you and complying with laws

Cozzi retains personal data until it is no longer necessary as part of fulfilling our promises to you, or if no longer required by law.

Sharing Of Personal Information

Cozzi does not share personal information with third parties, unless required by law. Cozzi may sell the placement of advertising in your feed based on your interests, however, PII is not shared.

Utilization Of Cookies And On-Device Storage

Cozzi utilizes a singular cookie to serve you across all of our services. This cookie is necessary. Cozzi also utilizes various on-device, browser storage technologies to make it harder to lose your Credentials. This storage is also necessary.
